Board Overview

The CBSE is a national level board of education in India, controlled and managed by the government of India. Class 10 exams are essential for admissions in higher secondary education.

Subjects

Students typically take exams in the following subjects:

English Language and Literature
Hindi Course A or B
Mathematics Standard or Basic (if a student takes basic mathematics in class 10, they are not eligible to opt for mathematics in class 11)
Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
Social Science (History, Geography, Political Science, Economics)
Optional subjects like Information Technology, Computer Applications, any third language, etc.

Board examinations are typically held in February-March.
Results are generally declared in May.
Students receive a marksheet and a passing certificate if they meet the minimum passing criteria.
